Natural World Reflections Poetry

A striking poem by a person that cares about the world our children will have to get by in.

Nature Calls

by Dominique Galiano 2018

Tidal waves scream on sandy white beaches
Tennis balls roped in tangled seaweed
Life's run aground what’s the lesson it teaches

Dead dolphins, blue whales, sea turtles beseech us
Cruise ships spill sewage convenience and greed
Tidal waves scream on sandy white beaches

Seagulls feet netted clear suffering screeches
Bait sets the trap bald eagles will feed
Life’s run aground what’s the lesson it teaches

Islands of trash drift to oceans far reaches
oil spilled otters internally bleed
Tidal waves scream on sandy white beaches

Heads bow in shame ears closed to the speeches
Mother’s dark future what choice will succeed
Tidal waves scream on sandy white beaches
Life’s run aground what’s the lesson it teaches
